Built in 2006, the
Fire Station is located at 250 Main Street. The station features 5 apparatus
bays each approximately 20 feet wide by 62 feet deep. The entry doors are
14' X 14' and will provide access for any future equipment that theTown may
require.
The station
also provides office space for the Fire Chief, Deputy and Assistant Chiefs,
Station office, a Crews day room along with a large meeting room with Kitchen
facilities and an engineering work shop. Ample storrage space is located at
the rear of the apparatus bay to provide secure and easy access.
The station was also designed to serve as an emergency shelter for the Town
and adjacient off shore islands. To meet this role, a 200 Amp emergency generator
and facilities to feed and house 200 people were were also included.
Southwest
Harbor Fire Association
The Southwest Harbor Fire Association was incorporated in 1996
to provide financial and other aid to the Town of Southwest Harbor
by supporting the Fire Departments missions.
